Unfiled BIR returns, open cases, or a business you need to close
We help you find out exactly which returns are open, prepare the missing ones, and see your record through to updated status or a completed closure. You see the penalty amount for each return before anything is filed, and every enquiry gets a reply within 48 hours.
Is this you?
- You stopped filing at some point, and now open cases are holding up a permit renewal, a tax clearance or a closure.
- You no longer run the business or freelance work you registered, but the registration is still active.
- You don't know how many returns are missing or what the penalties add up to.
What clearing open cases or closing a registration involves
The steps marked We handle this are the work you hand to us.
Tell us what's going on
YouChoose open cases, closure or not sure, and tell us roughly when you last filed. Please leave out your TIN and any BIR documents.
We reply with a quote or questions
We handle thisWithin 48 hours you get a quote, or the questions we need answered first. For open cases the quote firms up once we've seen the list.
Get the list of what's open
TogetherAn honest quote starts from the BIR's own record. We work with you to get the list of open cases on your registration and go through it together.
Map the gaps and work out the penalties
We handle thisWe sort the list into returns never filed and payments that weren't matched, then compute the surcharge, interest and compromise for each return before anything is filed. Micro and small taxpayers pay a 10% surcharge instead of 25%, and half the interest.
Prepare the missing returns
We handle thisWe prepare each missing return from your records, including zero returns for periods with no business activity, and send them to you to check.
Approve, file and pay
TogetherYou approve each return. It's filed and paid from your own BIR account, and your login details stay with you. Taxes and penalties go straight to the BIR, separate from our fee.
Updated status or closure
Government officeFor open cases, your RDO updates the record once returns and payments are matched. For closure, RMC 47-2026 lets the application go to your RDO by email, through ORUS or the TRRA portal, or in person. Penalties for non-filing stop accruing once the complete documents are submitted.

Questions
How do I know if I have open cases?
An open case is a return or payment the BIR shows as due on your registration but has no record of. Many people find out when they renew a permit, ask for a tax clearance or try to close. We start by getting the list so nobody is guessing.
How much will this cost?
Our fee is quoted after we see your situation. It depends on how many open cases there are, how many years they cover, what records you still have, and whether you're also closing. Taxes and penalties are separate and paid to the BIR at cost. For micro taxpayers (gross sales under ₱3 million) and small taxpayers (₱3 million to under ₱20 million), RA 11976 set the surcharge at 10% instead of 25% and cut the interest by half.
What do you need from me?
Not your TIN or documents in the enquiry. After our first reply we'll ask for your COR, copies of returns you did file, proof of payments, and whatever records you have for the open periods. For closure we also need your unused invoices and original BIR certificates.
Can I fix open cases myself?
Yes. You can file the missing returns through eBIRForms, which computes the penalty on a late return, pay, and bring the proof to your RDO. Our penalty guide shows the computation. Help makes sense when several years are open or the BIR's figures don't match yours.
Should I close my registration or stay registered?
If you've stopped for good, closing stops new open cases from piling up. Under RMC 47-2026, if you stop operating without applying for closure, you stay liable for filing returns and the penalties until the closure is completed. If you plan to restart soon, staying registered and filing on time may suit you better. We'll talk through both.
I got a Letter of Authority or an assessment notice. Can you help?
Not with the audit or the assessment itself. That work needs a CPA or tax lawyer. If you also have unfiled returns, we can prepare those.
How long does it take?
It depends on the number of returns, the records you have, and how your RDO processes the update. We don't promise a timeline before seeing the list. Note that under RMC 47-2026, a closure for a taxpayer under audit, or above the RMC's sales or asset thresholds, is completed only after the audit ends.
