Privacy Notice
Last updated
This notice explains how TaxCalculator.com.ph handles personal information, in line with the Data Privacy Act of 2012 (Republic Act No. 10173). For questions or requests about your data, write to privacy@taxcalculator.com.ph.
What we collect
When you send a service request, we collect what you type into the form: your name, your email address and/or mobile number, how you prefer us to reply, your taxpayer type, the service you need, and the optional description of your situation. We also record the page you sent it from, the page that referred you, any campaign tags in the link, and your browser type. The form never asks for your TIN or tax documents, and we ask you not to include them.
When you use the website, we and our analytics providers (Google Analytics and Microsoft Clarity) collect usage information such as pages viewed, approximate location, device and browser type, and how you interact with calculators. This uses cookies and similar technologies. Calculator inputs are not linked to your identity.
Why we use it
- To reply to your request, prepare a quote and, if you go ahead, provide the service.
- To keep a record of requests so we can follow up and meet our reply time.
- To understand which pages and tools are useful and improve them.
- To protect the website against spam and misuse.
We process request details with your consent, which you give by ticking the box on the form, and to take the steps you ask for before any engagement. You can withdraw consent at any time by writing to us.
Who receives it
- The bookkeeping and tax professionals who handle your request.
- Service providers we use to host the website, store data and manage enquiries, who may only use the information to provide those services to us and must keep it confidential.
- Government authorities, when the law requires it.
We do not sell your personal information.
Some of these providers store data on servers outside the Philippines. Where that happens, we require protection comparable to the Data Privacy Act.
How long we keep it
Requests that do not lead to an engagement are deleted 12 months after they are received. If you become a client, we keep engagement records for as long as the engagement and the law require. Analytics data is kept according to each provider's retention settings.
Your rights
Under the Data Privacy Act you have the right to:
- be informed about how your personal information is processed;
- access the personal information we hold about you;
- correct inaccurate or incomplete information;
- object to processing, and withdraw consent;
- have your information erased or blocked when it is no longer needed or was processed unlawfully;
- obtain a copy of your information in a commonly used format;
- be compensated for damages caused by unlawful processing; and
- lodge a complaint with the National Privacy Commission.
To use any of these rights, write to privacy@taxcalculator.com.ph with the email address or mobile number you used, so we can find your request.
How we protect it
Request details are stored in a database that only our server can read or write, over encrypted connections. Access is limited to the people who need it to reply to you.
