A quarterly return is due and you're unsure of the figures

We prepare your quarterly and annual BIR returns from your books, send each one to you with a short summary to approve, and keep the confirmations on file. Every enquiry gets a reply within 48 hours with a quote or the questions we need to give one.

Is this you?

  • You file 1701Q and 2551Q yourself every quarter and it takes a whole weekend each time.
  • You're not sure which returns your registration requires: 1701Q, 2551Q, 2550Q, or a mix.
  • Your 2307s, quarterly payments and annual return never quite line up.

What a filing cycle looks like

The steps marked We handle this are the work you hand to us.

  1. Tell us your taxpayer type

    You

In the enquiry, pick 8% non-VAT, graduated non-VAT, VAT-registered, or not sure. No TIN or returns needed yet.

  2. We reply with a quote or questions

    We handle this

Within 48 hours you get a quote, or the questions we need answered to give one.

  3. Confirm which returns you owe

    Together

We go through the tax types on your Certificate of Registration with you. If you chose the 8% rate, it takes the place of both the graduated rates and the percentage tax, so there's no 2551Q. VAT-registered taxpayers file 2550Q every quarter; the monthly 2550M is no longer required.

RA 10963 (TRAIN), NIRC Sec. 24(A) and 114(A) (LawPhil)

  4. Send the quarter's records

    You

If we keep your books, the figures are already with us. If not, you send the quarter's sales and expense records and 2307s by the cut-off we agree.

  5. We prepare the return and a summary

    We handle this

We compute the figures, prepare the return, and send it with a one-page summary showing how each number was reached.

  6. Approve, file and pay

    Together

You approve the return. It's filed and any tax paid from your own BIR account, and your login details stay with you.

  7. Confirmations kept on file

    We handle this

We file the BIR confirmation email and payment reference with your records. Tax records must be kept for five years.

RA 11976, amending NIRC Sec. 235 (LawPhil)

  • Sales and expense records for the quarter, unless we already keep your books
  • Forms 2307 you received from clients

Questions

How much does filing cost?

We quote after the first reply. What affects the quote: your taxpayer type and how many returns that means, VAT or non-VAT, whether we also keep your books, whether you withhold tax from others, and how late in the quarter records usually arrive. The tax itself is separate and paid from your own account.

What do you need from me?

Nothing sensitive in the enquiry. After our first reply we'll ask for your COR, your recent returns with their confirmation emails, the quarter's records, your 2307s and proof of payments, through a secure channel we agree with you.

Do I file 2551Q if I chose the 8% rate?

No. The 8% rate is in place of both the graduated income tax rates and the percentage tax, so there's no percentage tax return to file. Our 8% vs graduated guide explains the choice.

What is the percentage tax rate now?

3% of gross quarterly sales or receipts. The 1% rate applied only from 1 July 2020 to 30 June 2023.

Can I file my returns myself?

Yes. eBIRForms is free from the BIR and computes the penalty if a return is late, and our form pages walk through 1701Q and 2551Q. Help makes sense when your books, 2307s and payments need reconciling before the numbers can go on a return.

What if I've already missed a quarter?

File it as soon as you can. For micro and small taxpayers, RA 11976 set the surcharge at 10% instead of 25% and cut the interest by half. If several returns are missing, our open cases service covers them.

What don't you do?

We don't prepare audited financial statements, which need an independent CPA's signature. We don't represent clients in BIR audits or assessments, and we don't give tax planning advice.

How far ahead of the deadline do you need my records?

We agree a cut-off with you when you start, based on how many returns you file and whether we keep your books. We don't promise a turnaround before seeing your records.
