If you already used Metacash

  1. Send Metacash no more money, ID or bank details: the SEC named it in its SEC advisory on unrecorded online lending platforms and websites dated Mar 6, 2026. The SEC's advisory of Aug 20, 2026 says not to transact with, send personal information to or pay any advance payment or fee to an app missing from its list.
  2. Switch off its contacts permission. A lender may not contact anyone in your phone contacts other than the guarantors you named, whether or not it is on the SEC list. (DICT, NPC and SEC, Mar 18, 2026)
  3. If it messaged your contacts or posted your photo, file with the National Privacy Commission: send its Complaints-Assisted Form (CAF) to complaints@privacy.gov.ph (privacy.gov.ph).
  4. Report Metacash (the SEC printed it as tapmetacash.com) on SEC hotline 14732 or the iMessage portal. Lending without SEC authority carries a ₱10,000 to ₱50,000 fine, six months to ten years in prison, or both (RA 9474 Sec. 12).

Need a loan now? No lender pays to appear on this site or to change its position. Search the SEC list of recorded lending apps or compare the recorded apps by what you pay back. A recorded lender prints its company name, SEC Registration No. and Certificate of Authority No. in the app and its ads (SEC MC No. 19 s.2019, Sec. 1).

This page covers Metacash's SEC record. To report it or a harassment campaign, use the SEC (hotline 14732) and the National Privacy Commission; to recover money or bring a case, see a lawyer.
