Is FRESHAPP legit?

FRESHAPP is on the SEC list, but its published top rate is above the SEC caps on a ₱5,000, 120-day loan. It is run by Just Smile Lending Corporation (SEC Reg. No. CS202011342, CA No. 3379). The SEC list dated Sep 29, 2026 records it as "FRESHAPP". The SEC lifted an order of revocation against the company (FinLenD Resolution No. 2025-21). Being registered does not make every charge lawful: a charge above the caps can be reported to the SEC. SEC list, Sep 29, 2026

On ₱5,000 for 120 days, FRESHAPP's published terms come to at most ₱2,400 in interest and fees: interest of 12% a month and an all-in cost of 17.8% a month, higher because you repay in instalments but pay interest on the original amount the whole time. FRESHAPP on Google Play, updated Sep 1, 2026

Working: 144% a year × 120/360 days × ₱5,000 = ₱2,400 interest. The all-in rate is the monthly rate at which 4 payments of ₱1,850 repay the ₱5,000 you receive (SEC MC No. 14 s.2025 Sec. 2(d)).

Above the SEC caps for this loan: interest 12% a month against the 6% cap (above it); all-in 17.8% a month against the 12% cap (above it) (SEC MC No. 14 s.2025, effective Apr 1, 2026). SEC MC No. 14 s.2025
