Receiving HUF transfers in the Philippines
Cash remittances from Hungary reached US$3 million in 2025 (BSP, preliminary).
Forint sent to the Philippines are normally converted by the sending firm and paid out in pesos: into a bank account, an e-wallet such as GCash or Maya, or as cash at a remittance agent. Ask for the peso amount before you send, because that figure already includes the firm's rate.
Neither BPI nor Metrobank posts a board rate for Hungarian forint notes, so ask the sender to have the money paid out in pesos rather than carry the cash home. How Philippine tax treats HUF you receive
